Ortensia, Oswald, & Fanny

I wanted to put this up since Valentines day, but I was… busy _{(Also Oswald smile was gonna be MUCH bigger, but it didnt fit)}

I don’t know when, but just about as soon as Epic Mickey came out and Oswald’s in game relationship with the newly-named Ortensia (as she appeared in the short “Oh What a Knight” and “Rival Romeos”) was revealed, there was almost immediate protest in favor of Oswald’s Other love intrest the unnamed-until-fan-named Fanny Cottontail (as seen in “Great Guns and “All Wet”) .
And there wasn’t just protest toward Disney, but severe argument between Oswald fans especially here on dA.
There’s even so much as a Fan-War around here over the topic.
_{I’m currently unsure if it’s still going on, because I Am sure it’s a war nobody wants anyway}
I myself protest that there are atleast 2 other women that Oswald fell in love with [link] [1:00 + 1:35]
Unless “MLLE Zulu“ is just Ortensia under yet another name. And I the 4th I think I saw in a nonDisney Oswald short…

Well I’m here to say the side I’m on, is Both.

I don’t think Oswald can decide. He’s a hopelessly romantic spirit but his heart is too untamed to settle down. Allot like Brock from Pokemon. Monogamy is for Mickey.
If you’ve ever read an Archie comic [link](comics) , you’d understand quite easily how a man with two ladies in his life can work out, Especially Comedicly. Fanny and Ortensia can even be friends and/or rivals for Oswald’s affection.
And I imagine Ortensia behaving like a prototype Minnie, while Fanny behaving like a prototype Daisy.

It makes more sense to me that 2 rabbits made so many bunny children instead of a rabbit and a cat _{(if the cat were the dad and the rabbit were the mom it’d make more sense too (but i Do agree with how the bunny kids meow XD)}
Actually I could easily relate Oswald’s situation to my dad’s; he had atleast 5 kids with 4 other women before he met my mom, then he finally settled down, married and had me my bro and my sis.
I’d like to say 210 of the 420 bunny kids came from Ortensia, the other 210 came from Fanny.
But I can Also accept that Oswald’s “married” to Ortensia because since she’s the Banker’s Daughter, the Banker forced Oswald to marry his daughter at (comedic) gunpoint. While Nurse Fanny sits in the sidelines sighing jelously about the affair.
This would’ve been Oswald’s scenario in Epic Mickey had I been in charge. One thing I’d emphasize on all the forgotten characters is Why they were forgotten or didn’t work out, and Oswald’s love triangle would be one of the reasons Walt chose the simpler MickeyxMinnie relationship.
In fact Minnie was Invented to replace all the random females Oswald encountered.

But I understand why Warren Spector chose Ortensia above Fanny for Epic Mickey.
I think in the earliest stages of Epic Mickey, among others, a concept was brought up;
Mickey has been with Minnie since his Very beginning, their love was in bloom since 1928 and it still goes strong and unwilted today. He has saved her life time after countless time from All sorts of peril.
But what would happen one day if Mickey… failed to save her and lost her. How could that happen? How would he take it? How badly would it break his heart?
I guess this was before the “forgotten world” concept and obviously Minnie ended up written out of the plot. But the concept of a damsel unsaved and lost remained, and was filled by Ortensia since she seems allot like Minnie anyway. If Fanny were present, Oswald’s loneliness would be absent.
And besides the interspecies RabbitxCat relationship is a good contrast to the MousexMouse DuckxDuck single species standard.

But I still hate the idea of Oswald’s other love interests being forgotten even in Wasteland.
That’s about as bad as having the Paint sucked out of you.
